Level 1: Exploration and Fundamentals

Objective: To become familiar with clay and its possibilities through games and practical exercises

High temperature clay and its behavior.
Stakes, rollers, sponges. Games of experimentation with texture and touch.
Pinching, churros, slabs, creating textures.
Application of engobes to add color before firing.
Basic application of glazes: brush, dipping, and pouring.
Difference between engobes and glazes.
Testing with high-temperature glazes.

Level 2: Deepening Techniques

Decoración con pigmentos y óxidos sobre el esmalte (sobre cubierta) para obtener detalles más vibrantes y contrastados.

Experimentación con óxidos minerales:

Aplicación de óxidos en engobes y esmaltes.
Observación de cambios de color y textura después de la cocción.

Conceptos básicos de la cocción en alta temperatura.
Introducción a los efectos de diferentes curvas de cocción.

Free modeling without molds or a wheel.
Palette work
Experimental surfaces and tactile effects.

Game: “Deforming the shape” – A traditional shape is created and then intervened in an unexpected way.

Experimental Glazing

Experimentation with layers and superimpositions of glazes.
Application of underglaze and overglaze techniques to enrich the piece.
Mineral Oxides: Combination of oxides with glazes to discover new effects.

Game: “Painting with your eyes closed” – Glaze is applied without seeing, guided only by feel and instinct.

Personal Projects

Creation of a series of your own pieces.
Free application of all the techniques learned.

Game: “The Secret Piece” – Each student creates a piece to show it to no one, and then they are all revealed together in a small exhibition.
